『紫色圓舞曲』＝愛麗斯，城市漫遊，Wonderland?

Astrud Gilberto， 生於1940年3月29日。一位在巴西出生的歌手，以samba和bossa nova音樂出名。Astrud原名為Astrud Winert，她的母親是巴西人，父親是德國人，她出生在Bahia，而在Rio de Janeiro長大。Astrud在1959年和João Gilberto結婚，1963年他們搬到美國去，同年她和João Gilberto, Stan Getz and Antonio Carlos Jobim在極具影響力的Getz/Gilberto唱片裡聲音演出。Astrud在之前曾未做過職業性的演出，她會加入這張唱片的團隊是因為她的丈夫邀 請她加入。但在1960年中期，這對夫妻異離。

Gilberto的音樂專輯相當成功，尤其是"The Girl from Ipanema"快速地將Astrud推上了爵士歌手的舞台。從此，她便開始錄製solo歌曲。原先，她以詮釋巴西和美國bossa nova歌曲做開頭，70年代她也開始錄製她個人的創作。一位波蘭歌手Basia創作"Astrud"這首歌，向Gilberto致敬。

"The Girl from Ipanema" ("A Garota de Ipanema") 被認為是史上最著名的bossa nova歌曲。在60年代中期，這首歌曾是世界最唱銷歌曲。這首歌創作於1962年，Antonio Carlos Jobim作曲，Vinicius de Moraes創作葡萄牙歌詞。之後由Norman Gimbel寫作英文歌詞。

這首歌大多被宣告為史上第二最流行錄製歌曲，第一為 The Beatles的"Yesterday"。最有名的版本為Stan Getz和Astrud Gilberto的演奏版本，在1963年Getz/Gilberto專輯裡。1962年Pery Ribeiro做第一次的商業性錄製。因為電影音樂的需要，將這首歌做了無數次的錄製，大多運用在elevator music cliché。 2003年Gilberto對於阻止使用這首歌作為Doritos snack chips的廣告，告訴失敗。Stephen Sondheim和Mary Rodgers 的"The Boy From..."是對"The Girl From Ipanema"的一種嘲諷。
